Application of Temperature and Humidity Sensor in Medical

Nowadays, all kinds of sensors have unique and extensive applications in the medical industry. Many sensor manufacturers have developed special sensors, such as temperature and humidity sensors, which are used in the medical industry for the medical equipment involving hospitals, blood stations, CDC, pharmaceutical factories, biopharmaceutical companies, cold chain logistics, freezers, incubators, refrigerated trucks and so on. The following is a brief introduction to the application of temperature and humidity sensor.

1. Ventilator

The humidity sensor in the medical ventilator is helpful in conveying some warm and wet air, making the patient feel comfortable. When the water is introduced into the air stream, it must be monitored and controlled in real time. When the patient exhales, the air flow sensor sends a signal to inform the sleep ventilator to reduce the speed of the ventilator fan lest the patient feel uncomfortable of “fighting” the machine. The humidity sensor is used to monitor the humidity of the air and accurately measure the dew point and absolute humidity or moisture content to provide the patient with humidity appropriate air.

2. Infusion pumps

The contact force sensor in the infusion pump is to ensure that the infusion pump and the insulin pump pipeline are unobstructed.

3. Anesthetic machines

The gas flow sensor can measure the flow of air, oxygen and nitrous oxide in the anesthetic machine so that the gas component supplied to the patient conforms to the standard set by the doctor. Thermistor sensor is used for monitoring the air temperature and humidity from the anaesthesia machine to make the patient breathe comfortably and avoid throat pain caused by inhalation of dry cold air.

4. Diagnostic instruments

The gas flow sensor is used to regulate the gas velocity, contact force and position sensors are used to control automatic laboratory robots. The pressure sensor is used in the pump system, the speed sensor controls the speed of the centrifuge, and the temperature sensor controls the temperature of the sample and the chamber. The thermistor element temperature sensor of the blood analyzer is used to monitor the temperature of the chamber, the diffusion lamp and the oil-cooled motor in case of overheating. Stop the machine immediately to cool it once overheating occurs.The infrared sensor of the blood cell analyzer can be used in combination with the encoder on the pump shaft to calculate the rotation of the pump shaft. Sensors can detect opaque objects that block infrared access through the packaging gap.
